How to wash and care for your cycling kit

Good kit deserves good care.

The right washing routine will help your Rivelo kit last longer, keep its performance features working, and ensure it looks sharp ride after ride. Below you’ll find the care instructions for our core ranges: Race, Heritage, Essential, and Merino.

General care tips

  • Always wash kit soon after riding to prevent sweat and bacteria build-up.
  • Close zips and turn garments inside out before washing.
  • Use a gentle, non-biological detergent. Harsh products (bleach, stain removers, fabric softeners) can damage fibres.
  • Stick to cold water (30°C). Heat breaks down elastic and technical fabrics.
  • For technical fabrics, avoid overloading the machine so water and detergent can circulate freely.
  • Avoid the tumble dryer. Air drying is best to protect stretch and fit.

For Merino, the wool is naturally odour-resistant, so it doesn’t need washing after every ride. Often airing can be enough.
